Frequently Asked Questions

Are your products really 100% Natural?

Yes! Our products are made with only the finest natural ingredients including essential oils, butters, cold pressed oils and botanicals.

Are your products Cruelty-Free?

We happily test our products on ourselves! So all of our products are Cruelty-Free and always will be!

Are your products Certified Organic?

Currently no, but this is something that we are working towards in the future. However, all of the organic ingredients we use are certified organic.

Is your Packaging Recyclable?

Yes! The majority of our packaging is made from recyclable and reusable glass. Some of our closures are made from plastic, however, we have refill options available for these. Our Soap and Shampoo bars are wrapped in compostable paper, so you can pop them in your food waste bin.

Why does my product look different from last time?

As the products we make are handmade with natural and organic ingredients, occasionally there can be variations in colour, scent, and texture between different batches.

We try to keep our products as uniform as possible, however, if you are unsatisfied with the way your item looks them please don’t hesitate to get in contact with us about it

Why is my Cream / Balm liquid?

During shipping in the hotter summer months, these products may melt and become liquid. If this happens place them in the fridge for a few hours to re-solidify then store them in a cool, dark place between use. Although the product may look different from the image when melted, it will not affect its effectiveness or quality.

Are your products Safe to use during pregnancy?

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding and unsure about using products with essential oils, we recommend that you seek medical advice from a doctor or midwife before use.

What is the shelf life of your products?

All of our products typically have a shelf life of 12 or 18 months when made, and are usually shipped out within 1-2 months of being made.

As this is a best before date. the products are still fine to be used after this date and will stay in good condition for a long time if stored correctly. We recommend storing products out of direct sunlight and in a cool place when not in use to keep your products as fresh as possible.

We only use natural preservative antioxidant vitamin E to help prolong the life of your product.

How much is Shipping?

You can find out more about our shipping costs and timeframes on our Shipping + Handling page.

Are your products made in the UK?

Yes! Everything is handmade by our team in small batches in our South Lanarkshire workshop in rural Scotland.

Do you sell Wholesale?

Yes! We love to work with other businesses. The Wild Nettle Co products are currently stocked in a number of Gift shops, Refilleries, Eco-Stores, Salons, and Holistic Practices. Get in touch and tell us about your business. Email us directly, or order through our wholesale partner, Faire- wholesale page

Do you offer Free Samples?

Yes, we do! We understand the frustration of purchasing expensive products that don’t work for your skin so have made these testers available to allow you to check for sensitivities before committing to a full-size purchase.

What’s the difference between Nettle Cream & Nettle Cream Sensitive?

Both these Nettle creams are made with a blend of Coconut oil, Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter & Nettle-infused Sweet Almont oil.

The original formulation of Nettle cream has added Lavender and Chamomile Essential Oils, while the Sensitive version has NO added essential oils.
They are both beautifully rich and nourishing for dry and sensitive skin, and over the same level of hydration and protection.

As always, we suggest those with sensitive skin start with a Free sample size and perform a patch test before committing to a full-size purchase.

Do you use Sodium Hydroxide, Lye, Caustic Soda?

Yes we do, as this is an essential component to soap making. When we make soap, the oils we use react with the caustic soda in a process called saponification. This process changes, for example, Olive oil, into Sodium Olivate, which is a harmless substance otherwise known as Olive oil soap! This means that there isn’t actually any caustic soda left in your finished bar of soap.

Do you use Palm Oil?

Absolutely not! While other formulators might claim otherwise, there is no such thing as sustainable palm oil and the use of “sustainable” certifications such as RSPO has simply lead to greater deforestation and the expansion of plantations that are driving oragutans closer to extinction.

The Wild Nettle Co avoids palm oil in all its forms and will never try to “PR” you with “we’re working with our suppliers to change this.” Does this cost us more? Absolutely. But its worth it.

Where is my order?

If you feel your parcel is taking longer than expected, please wait until the requisite business days have passed since dispatch before contacting us on [email protected] and we will be happy to look into this for you. Please note that we are unable to make a claim with Royal Mail on your behalf and issue a replacement until this time frame has been passed as we have to adhere to Royal Mail’s processes.

Please keep in mind that we are a small team and fraudulent claims for products not received can really hurt us.

Rest assured, our team will always ensure you receive your order.

What do I do if my product arrived Damaged?

This is not good news, please get in touch directly by email [email protected] so that we can file a claim with Royal Mail on your behalf and issue your replacement.
